Darker than Ever

If we are going to start putting liars and hypocrites behind the bars, politicians should be the first ones to go! What media transparency and freedom of the press? Most of the time they are just a bunch of liars fabricating cock-and-bull stories to safeguard their personal political interests.

Just look at our country. Major newspapers are governed by Singapore Press Holdings, and for media and publicity, MediaCorp dominates in almost all the television and radio broadcasting. Both these companies belong to Temasek Holdings, which is 100% owned by the government of Singapore - Ministry of Finance (MoF), and it's Board of Directors are directly appointed by MoF. Therefore, coming back from one big round, Singapore media is indirectly government-controlled.

The free press of Singapore is so called free - simply because our government say it is free.

There is no free media in Singapore.

How many times do we get bored of all those news and programmes, boasting of our nation's successes, achievements, peace and security. Oh maybe you don't, but i certainly do get sick of all these government propaganda. Most significantly, we do not have media and press companies that are independent of the government of Singapore, report 'real' news that are first hand from the frontline. Not after several stages of 'refining' and 'purification'. Any firm who tries to be funny, be prepared to face legal actions - not forgetting a full frontpage apology in the Straits Times.

The Best Playwriting Awards, should be given to our politicians. Forget Jack Neo! We have our cabinet of creative and flamboyant talents, including lawyers and judges, capable of turning 'black into white'. With great ingenuity and proficiency, anyone is capable of being a scapegoat. Name someone and down he goes. Publish it on the frontpage of all major newspapers, and Singaporeans will just buy it - the story.
No, i don't.

The ethic of searching for truth is gone, left with cynicism and distorted truths.

Hail the Decade

1st January 2008 marks an eminent day for everyone of BPGHS 106'98.
The heyday of a decade of friendship.
We had our class chalet on 30th December 2007 - 1st January 2008.
And yes, we've answered the call of this exceptional day, all thanks to the support that everyone in the class had given.
It is on this day that our lives crossed for one major gathering since we went on seperate ways after graduation. The day for celebration, party, boozing, gossiping, reminiscence, and perhaps rekindling of dwindled or lost friendships.

Greatest thanks and appreciation to all those that made this smashing event a wonderful memory to everyone.
